About this role

Job Summary The Teacher Apprentice role is designed for individuals pursuing a career in education who are actively enrolled in a teacher preparation program. This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the classroom while working under the supervision of a certified teacher. The role supports the development of teaching skills, classroom management strategies, and professional growth in a structured and supportive environment. Based on your education and experience, you can be placed as an academic support teacher apprentice or a teacher apprentice in a classroom (teacher of record). Key Responsibilities

• Complete lesson planning, lead instruction, and manage classroom environment.

• Provide support to students individually or in small groups to enhance learning outcomes.

• Lead classroom activities under the guidance and supervision of the mentor teacher.

• Participate in parent-teacher conferences, staff meetings, and professional development sessions as required.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to student progress and classroom activities.

• Actively engage in reflective practices to improve teaching strategies and student outcomes.

• Adhere to school policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

• Attend all required Teacher Apprentice Program training

Qualifications

• Education:

• Actively enroll in an accredited teacher preparation program.

• Must provide college or High school Transcript, Program of Studies and Degree Plan

• Progress Requirements:

• Demonstrate consistent progress in the teacher preparation program

• Must remain actively enrolled in good standing

• Submit transcripts each semester

• Provide Midterm grades by due date requested

• Skills and Competencies:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and administrators.

• Willingness to learn and implement new teaching methods.

• Organized, dependable, and committed to professional growth.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting

• Familiarity with classroom technologies and educational tools

Working Conditions

• Primarily based in a classroom environment.

• May require occasional after-school or weekend commitments for meetings or events.
