Job Summary The Instructional Aide/Paraprofessional supports teachers and students in the classroom by assisting with instructional activities, classroom management, supervision, and student support services. This position helps create a safe, positive, and productive learning environment that promotes student success academically, socially, and behaviorally. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist teachers with daily classroom instruction and activities
• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts
• Support students with academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs
• Assist with implementing accommodations and modifications for students as directed
• Monitor and supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, recess, assemblies, and other school settings
• Help maintain a safe, organized, and structured learning environment
• Prepare instructional materials, classroom resources, and technology for lessons
• Assist students with assignments, organization, and classroom routines
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student records and information
• Support positive student behavior and follow school discipline procedures
• Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, administrators, and students
• Assist with clerical duties such as copying, filing, grading, and attendance as assigned
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and required trainings
• Perform other duties as assigned by administration
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate degree or passing paraprofessional assessment preferred (based on district/state requirements)
• Experience working with children or in a school setting preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students
• Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the school day
• Ability to lift and carry instructional materials or classroom supplies
• Ability to supervise students in various school environments
