Jenks Public Schools Job Description Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Reports to: Site Principal, Site RN, Health Services Coordinator Supervises: None Qualifications:
• Hold or be eligible for a current Practical Nurse License and CPR certificate.
• Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Goal: Support excellence in student learning by functioning as a member of the healthcare team in the school setting. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Perform nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Perform delegated Nursing Care Skills as appropriate for a Licensed Practical Nurse in compliance with the OK Nurse Practice Act and Jenks Public Schools Policies and Procedures.
• Maintain impeccable Infection Control Practices in all school environments.
• Demonstrate effective verbal, written and electronic communication skills with students, teachers, patrons and other health clinics.
• Document and maintain student health information in a confidential and timely manner utilizing JPS approved systems.
• As necessary, travel to and from school with students in District vehicles.
• Participate in Nursing Collaboration and implement changes as indicated.
• Participate in professional education opportunities as provided by both the District and the community.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
