Position Summary Xavier Catholic Schools is seeking a qualified and dependable Long-Term Substitute Spanish Teacher for Xavier High School. The ideal candidate will provide engaging instruction, maintain a positive classroom environment, and ensure continuity of learning during the teacher's leave of absence. This substitute assignment will begin in August of 2026 and go through November of 2026. Responsibilities
• Deliver daily Spanish instruction to high school students in accordance with lesson plans and curriculum expectations
• Create a supportive, respectful, and engaging classroom environment
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain appropriate discipline standards
• Assess student progress and provide feedback as needed
• Communicate professionally with students, staff, and families
• Collaborate with administration and department staff to support student success
• Maintain accurate attendance and grading records during the assignment
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Valid teaching license/certification preferred
• Spanish language proficiency required
• Practicing Catholic Preferred
• Enthusiastic supporter of Catholic Education
• Previous teaching or classroom experience preferred
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to adapt and maintain instructional continuities.
