The Early Childhood Curriculum Program Supervisor provides statewide leadership and oversight for curriculum implementation, instructional quality initiatives, and educator support activities designed to strengthen early childhood classroom practices across Arkansas. The position supervises Early Childhood Regional Specialists and supports statewide implementation of the Pre-K RISE Initiative, including Launchpad, LETRS for Early Childhood (EC), and an Early Childhood Comprehensive Curriculum aligned to the Arkansas Child Development and Early Learning Standards (AR CDELS). The position also supports statewide implementation of the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) observation framework and related coaching, professional development, and instructional quality initiatives. The Program Supervisor works under the direction of the Arkansas Department of Education Office of Early Childhood and collaborates with state, regional, and local partners to improve instructional quality and outcomes for children ages birth to five years. Key Responsibilities The Early Childhood Curriculum Program Supervisor leads statewide coordination and implementation efforts related to curriculum, instructional supports, coaching, and professional learning initiatives within early childhood programs. Responsibilities include supervising Early Childhood Regional Specialists and supporting the planning, organization, and delivery of statewide training and technical assistance activities related to Pre-K RISE initiatives and instructional quality efforts. The Program Supervisor oversees activities that support implementation of Launchpad, LETRS for Early Childhood (EC), and an Early Childhood Comprehensive Curriculum aligned to AR CDELS. The position works to ensure instructional materials, classroom practices, and coaching supports are implemented consistently and effectively across participating programs and providers.
A bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Child Development, or a related field is required. A master’s degree is preferred. Applicants should have experience in early childhood education, curriculum implementation, instructional coaching, educator professional development, or related early childhood systems, along with demonstrated experience in program coordination, leadership, or staff supervision. Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and collaboration skills are essential. Applicants should have the ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including educators, community organizations, public school districts, and early childhood providers. Knowledge of Arkansas early childhood systems, AR CDELS, CLASS, instructional coaching practices, and high-quality instructional materials is highly desirable. The Program Supervisor supports statewide implementation of the CLASS observation framework, including activities related to training, calibration, reliability, observation supports, and continuous quality improvement. The position works collaboratively with regional specialists, local lead organizations, educators, administrators, and community partners to strengthen instructional practices and classroom interactions that support positive child outcomes. The Program Supervisor coordinates professional development and coaching activities designed to support early childhood educators, instructional coaches, and administrators in the implementation of high-quality instructional materials and developmentally appropriate practices. The position also assists in the development and review of curriculum resources, implementation guidance documents, and statewide instructional support materials. The Program Supervisor supports communication and coordination among internal and external stakeholders involved in early childhood instructional quality initiatives. This includes participating in statewide planning efforts, advisory groups, cross-agency initiatives, and collaborative activities that support Arkansas early childhood education priorities. The Program Supervisor collects and analyzes information related to implementation activities, coaching supports, instructional quality initiatives, and professional learning efforts in order to support continuous improvement and program effectiveness. The position also prepares reports, assists with strategic planning activities, and supports statewide efforts designed to improve instructional quality and educator effectiveness within Arkansas early childhood programs. Additional Information This position involves statewide coordination, training, coaching, and technical assistance activities and may require periodic travel within Arkansas. The Program Supervisor works closely with the Arkansas Department of Education Office of Early Childhood and a wide range of partners committed to improving instructional quality and outcomes for young children throughout the state.
