TITLE: Vision Teacher REPORTS TO: Program Supervisor QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree or higher with PEL and Teacher of Visually Impaired endorsement EVALUATIONS: Conducted on an annual basis in accordance with KASEC guidelines TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Length of employment, salary and benefits determined by the Board of Directors of KASEC RESPONSIBILITIES: Technical Skills:
• Develop Individual Educational Programs for students with varying vision impairments.
• Develop long and short term learning goals and benchmarks according to program guidelines and the IEP.
• Conduct activities reflecting IEP goals and benchmarks.
• Prepare, adapt, and provide instruction for students with vision impairments.
• Adapt curricula and use evidence based teaching practices based on student needs.
• Use technology to support student's low vision needs in the classroom setting.
• Establish an instructional pace consistent with students' learning process.
• Monitor student performance and progress, adjusting instruction as necessary.
• Compile and maintain necessary records and progress notes.
• Participate as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain orderliness and safety of instructional areas.
• Maintain appropriate communication with parents.
