Job Title: 6-12 Band & Chorus Instructor Location: Holy Trinity Catholic Schools – Fort Madison, Iowa Reports To: Building Principal Employment Type: Full-Time, 10-Month Contract Position Summary Holy Trinity Catholic Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated 6-12 Band & Chorus Teacher to join our faith-filled educational community. The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity, foster critical thinking, and engage students in hands-on learning while integrating Catholic values into daily instruction. This teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering band & chorus curriculum to middle school students in grades 6–12. Primary Responsibilities Instruction and Curriculum
• Plan and deliver engaging band and choir instruction aligned with state and school standards.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the varying abilities and learning styles of students.
• Assess student progress regularly and maintain accurate academic records and grades.
• Incorporate technology and creative instructional strategies into music education.
Program Development
• Develop and maintain a strong, positive 6–12 music program that encourages student participation and growth.
• Recruit and retain students for band and choir programs.
• Select appropriate music literature for ensembles and performances.
• Organize and maintain music libraries, instruments, uniforms, and classroom equipment.
• Coordinate curriculum continuity between middle school and high school music programs.
Performances and Events
• Prepare students for concerts, contests, liturgies, pep band events, festivals, parades, and community performances.
• Coordinate concert schedules, rehearsals, and performance logistics.
• Collaborate with administration and staff regarding school events and performances.
• Ensure students demonstrate professionalism and appropriate behavior during performances and travel.
