About this role
We are seeking an encouraging and patient Junior High Softball Coach to lead our Junior High program. The primary focus of this position is to introduce and reinforce the foundational skills of softball, promote teamwork, and cultivate a positive, fun environment that prepares student-athletes for the high school level. Key Responsibilities
• Skill Development: Teach the core fundamentals of the game, including proper throwing, catching, fielding, base running, and hitting mechanics.
• Player Retention & Growth: Focus on player development and maximum participation, ensuring a positive experience that encourages athletes to continue playing in high school.
• Game Management: Manage junior high team practices, game lineups, and travel logistics in collaboration with the Athletic Director.
• Introduction to Strategy: Introduce basic game situations, rules, and strategies appropriate for the junior high level.
• Program Alignment: Work collaboratively with the High School Head Softball Coach to ensure consistency in terminology, drills, and program expectations.
• Character Building: Emphasize sportsmanship, effort, academic responsibility, and positive team dynamics.
