We are seeking dedicated and reliable substitute teachers to join our team. As a substitute teacher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a positive and productive learning environment in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Your responsibilities will include delivering lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and ensuring a smooth continuation of the curriculum. Duties: - Provide instruction and guidance to students in the absence of the regular teacher - Follow lesson plans and ensure continuity of learning - Maintain a safe and positive classroom environment - Implement classroom management strategies to promote student engagement and behavior management - Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the individual needs of students - Collaborate with other staff members to support student success - Provide feedback to the regular classroom teacher regarding student progress and any issues that arise during your assignment. - Complete all training required by TEA. Experience:
• Previous experience in childcare, early childhood education, tutoring, or related fields is preferred
• Familiarity with math, literacy education, and lesson planning is beneficial
• Experience working with students of various ages and abilities, including preschool and special education students, is a plus
• Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively engage with students
Qualifications:
• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; higher education in education or related field is a plus
• Ability to pass a background check
• Strong writing, reading and communication skills in English
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively manage a classroom and maintain discipline.
• Flexibility and adaptability to work in different grade levels and subject areas.
• Prior experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred.
Physical Abilities Needed to Perform the Assignment
• Ability to lift and carry 40 Lbs
• Be able to remain active for up to 8 hours consecutively, and have the ability to kneel, crouch, or sit comfortably
• Visually and audibly able to monitor the classrooms and students and navigate for emergencies.
• Have the physical ability to perform CPR
• To be able to move swiftly in emergency situations
