About this role
The Athletic Director/Head Coach provides leadership and oversight for the district’s athletic program while serving as a head coach for assigned sports. This position is responsible for promoting academic achievement, sportsmanship, character development, and competitive success among student-athletes. Duties include supervising coaches, coordinating athletic schedules, managing budgets and facilities, ensuring compliance with UIL and district regulations, monitoring student eligibility, and fostering positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community. In a small 1A school district, the Athletic Director/Head Coach is expected to take an active, hands-on role in coaching, event management, transportation coordination, and supporting all athletic programs to maximize student participation and success.
