About this role
TITLE: Mechanic REPORTS TO: Shop Foreman LENGTH OF CONTRACT OR WORK YEAR: 12 months (240 days)_ SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs, diagnoses and repairs district's automotive diesel equipment.
• Promotes high standards of safety and good housekeeping methods in all work-connected areas.
• Performs general automotive diesel repair and preventive maintenance as required.
• Operate school bus as a substitute driver, when needed.
• Records all maintenance and report to district vehicles and equipment.
• Performs any other duties as assigned by the Shop Foreman or Director of Transportation.
• Regular in person attendance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or GED.
• Demonstrated success in performing a wide variety of tasks requiring an understanding of and proficiency at automotive diesel mechanical repair.
• Successful experience with recommendations from references.
• Evidence of ability to adapt to mechanical repair assignments made by the Shop Foreman or Director of Transportation.
• Satisfactory driving record with Commercial Drivers Licenses, class B with a “P” passenger, “S” school bus endorsement and Air Brakes endorsements.
• Satisfactory participation in DOT Random Testing
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Ability to use basic computer and engine diagnostic equipment. Approved by Board of Trustees: December 8, 2009
