North Scott Community School District is looking to hire a Bus Driver. Apply today to join our team. QUALIFICATIONS:

• Have current CDL for the State of IOWA.

• Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.

• Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO: Transportation Supervisor JOB GOAL: By providing safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curricular and extra-curricular program PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and speed limits.

• Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.

• Monitors student behavior on the bus to ensure a safe and orderly environment.

• Reinforce positive behavior and bus expectations.

• Enforce school bus safety rules and regulations, addressing issues such as bullying, fighting, or disruptive behavior.

• Support students with special needs, medical needs and/or accommodations as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or 504 plans.

• Reports any behavioral issues or incidents to the building principal or transportation supervisor and communicates effectively with parents when necessary.

• Keeps assigned bus clean.

• Follows designated routes and maintaining the schedule

• Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects. Fills out daily inspection sheets.

• Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.

• Discharges students only at authorized stops.

• Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.

• Transports only authorized students.

• Reports all accidents and completes required reports.

• Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.

• Maintaining a professional, respectful, and friendly demeanor with students, parents, and school staff.

• Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities as required.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten, eleven or twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board. EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated per contract language.
