About this role

The Physical Education (PE) Coach is responsible for providing engaging, developmentally appropriate physical education instruction for students in PreK through Grade 2. The PE Coach promotes physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive character development while creating a safe and inclusive learning environment. The coach collaborates with teachers, administrators, and families to support the overall growth and well-being of students. Essential Responsibilities Plan and deliver high-quality physical education lessons aligned to district and state standards. Teach fundamental motor skills, movement concepts, fitness, and age-appropriate games and activities. Promote positive behavior, teamwork, cooperation, and sportsmanship consistent with school-wide expectations. Maintain a safe learning environment and supervise students during all PE activities. Adapt instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including students with disabilities. Monitor student participation and progress and communicate with teachers and families as needed. Assist with school-wide wellness initiatives, fitness activities, and special events. Maintain PE equipment and ensure proper use and storage of materials. Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to support student success and school goals. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal. Qualifications Valid Florida Educator Certificate or eligibility for certification in Physical Education preferred. Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate physical education practices for young learners. Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to establish positive relationships with students, staff, and families. Physical Demands Ability to actively participate in physical activities with students. Ability to stand, walk, run, bend, lift, and supervise students in indoor and outdoor environments.
