Position 12 Months Monday through Friday 7.5 Hours a day 6:00 AM- 2:30 PM. 1 Hour for Lunch Job Goal: To assure maximum productivity and effective application of his skills in air-conditioning/refrigeration field and to realize the very best environment control for students in the school plant facilities. Qualification\Certifications Minimum Eligibility Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in the air condition/refrigeration filed and/or Two (2) years formal vocational training (air conditioning/refrigeration) from a recognized vocational-technical center. Successful performance on a job-related test of technical knowledge and skill. Holds a valid driver’s license and/or a Florida State recognized driving permit, in order to drive a School District vehicle. Such alternatives to the above requirements as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Installs and maintains air condition equipment of all variations. 2. Performs service work on all refrigeration equipment to include walk-in freezers, reach-in freezers, and ice machines. 3. Has working knowledge of circuitry and controls for all of the above. 4. Installs and maintains duck work and filters as well as the air handling unit. 5. Maintains cooling towers and component pumps on a regular schedule. 6. Maintains electrical motors, compressors, and condensers. 7. Capable of determining by means of electronic meters if circuits are complete or broken in control systems and motor windings. 8. Interprets blueprints, factory details, and control schematics related to air-condition/refrigeration. 9. Insures a safe working environment for semi-skilled and/or apprentice co-workers. 10. Capable of properly sizing air-condition/refrigeration systems to fit the design load. 11. Assures cleanup of job area when work is complete. 12. Knows the uses and effects of all chemicals that are used in servicing and maintenance. 13. Uses good standards of productivity, effectiveness, cleanliness and professional presentations of himself, tools, and work sites and job materials. 14. Attends schools or seminars concerning school related equipment. 15. Assume responsibility for tools, vehicles and/or materials that are issued to complete job assignments. 16. Abides by and facilitates adherence to all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures; maintains professional standards; maintains high level of professional development/knowledge. 17. Other such duties as may be: (1) temporary and/or sporadically performed as assigned by the supervisor and/or the Board, (2) permanently reassigned and specific changes noted and signed by the supervisor.
