About this role
Position is 12 Months Monday through Friday. 7.5 Hours a day, 6:30 AM- 2:30 PM. 1 Hour Lunch. Job Goal: To implement and maintain a preventive maintenance program for school facilities in order to provide an optimum environment for student learning. Qualification\Certifications Minimum Eligibility Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of two (2) years vocational training from a recognized vocational training program. Two (2) years job related experience in area of maintenance and repairs needed at assigned site. Holds a valid Driver’s License and/or a Florida State recognized driving permit, in order to drive a School District vehicle. Such alternatives to the above requirements as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Maintains air conditioning equipment systems in consideration of manufacturer’s recommendations and site specific preventive maintenance plan as approved by the Director of Maintenance and the applicable site administration. 2. Maintains heating equipment and systems in consideration of manufacturer’s recommendations and site specific preventive maintenance plan as approved by the Director of Maintenance and the applicable site administration. 3. Maintains facility’s lighting systemand systems in consideration of manufacturer’s recommendations and site specific preventive maintenance plan as approved by the Director of Maintenance and the applicable site administration. 4. Maintains hot water heating systemand systems in consideration of manufacturer’s recommendations and site specific preventive maintenance plan as approved by the Director of Maintenance and the applicable site administration. 5. Knows locations and readily accesses (when needed) all water valves, main electrical disconnect switches, and sewage clean out points. 6. Performs preventive maintenance of all the above to include cleaning, lubricating, corrosion control, painting and replacement of work parts to prevent anticipated breakdowns. Identifies and requests support assistance from Maintenance when needs are beyond capability or work load. 7. Maintains and makes minor repairs on kitchen equipment to keep in working order within the scope of capability. 8. Performs minor plumbing repairs within the scope of capability. 9. Maintains emergency generator in optimal operational condition, if applicable. 10. Performs other minor maintenance tasks when primary job permits in order to minimize the need for maintenance crews being called off larger jobs. Requests support from maintenance when needs exceed capability. 11. Maintains all exhaust fans, motors, belts, bearings, switches within the scope of capability. 12. Abides by and facilitates adherence to all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures; maintains professional ethical standards; maintains high level of professional development/knowledge. 13. Other duties as may be (1) temporarily and/or sporadically assigned by the supervisor and/or the Board, (2) permanently reassigned and specific changes noted and signed by the Supervisor.
