Position: Library Teaching Assistant (Job Description)
Location: Truman Available: 26/27 school year Hours/Schedule: 7.5 hours/day; 5 days/week; 186 days per year (Benefit Eligible)
Additional Duties & Responsibilities: Supports the daily instructional and operational functions of the school library by assisting students in locating, checking out, and returning books and other materials, as well as helping staff and teachers access library resources. This role includes supporting the district librarian with daily activities, using and maintaining the library database, and organizing, shelving, and maintaining the collection to ensure materials are accessible and well-kept. Also helps reinforce student library and research skills while maintaining a safe, welcoming, and organized environment for all students and staff throughout the school day.
Requirements: To qualify, candidates must have an Associates' Degree/48 college credits or paraprofessional certificate with appropriate and relevant experience.
REQUIRED PAPERWORK: In order to begin employment in any PA public school, all employees are required to complete mandatory paperwork. Background employment clearances must be completed within the last year to be valid and include:
• PA State Police Clearance (Act 34)
• Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151)
• FBI Fingerprints (Act 114)
Some additional paperwork includes Arrest/Conviction Report form, PA Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure (Act 168), physician's health form and recently completed TB test.
