POSITION: Intervention Specialist Leonard Kirtz School DUTIES (include but not limited to the following):
• Assess levels and needs of students and gather evaluative data, develop and implement IEP on the basis of evaluation and assessment. • Provide instruction to students with developmental disabilities. • Provide instruction in approved or adopted curriculum areas. • Develop and implement approved behavioral plans. • Develop and implement daily lesson plans consistent with students' Individual Educational Plans and the Ohio Extended Standards. QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS (include but not limited to the following):
• Hold appropriate certificate/license as required by the Ohio Department of Education; Intervention Specialist, preferably in the area of moderate to intensive. • Hold and maintain current certification in CPR and First Aid. • Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCII), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and abuser registry clearances. • Any other training as required by the Ohio DODD or county board policy. • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity & contributing to an inclusive working environment. • Ability to engage others with understanding & empathy. SALARY: As in negotiated agreement HOURS: 35 hour week, (Normally 8:30am 3:30pm, M-F during school year) This position involves working with children and/or young adults who have developmental disabilities. In addition to the requirements listed above, the following qualifications shall be considered in evaluating an applicant for possible employment for this position: an applicant's varied work-experience; one's training and/or education; and, one's adaptability to work with children and/or adults with developmental disabilities.
