About this role

Position Summary The Speech-Language Pathology Paraprofessional provides administrative and instructional support to the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). Under the supervision of the SLP, this position assists with scheduling, helping maintain records, organize resources, and supporting speech-language services. Essential Duties

• Assist with scheduling speech-language evaluations, therapy sessions, and meetings.

• Maintain calendars, student records, and therapy documentation.

• Gather, prepare, organize, and inventory therapy materials and resources.

• Perform clerical tasks including copying, filing, data entry, correspondence, and recordkeeping.

• Maintain confidentiality and comply with district policies.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications All Paraprofessionals must have a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent. Additionally, Paraprofessionals must be qualified through one of the following options:

• Complete two years of study at an institution of higher education; or

• Obtain an associate's (or higher) degree (must provide supporting documents)

Newly hired paraprofessionals who do not meet one of these requirements will be required to certify through the Parapro assessment as soon as possible after being hired as noted below:

• Meet a proficiency target of 455 on the Parapro standardized assessment.

• In addition to the options identified above, Paraprofessionals may achieve local status by meeting a local proficiency score on the Parapro of 450.

When completing new hire paperwork paraprofessionals will receive direction on how to begin the process of scheduling your Parapro assessment.
