Job Title: Kindergarten Paraeducator Location: Woodstock Elementary School, Woodstock, VT Position Type: School-Year, Full-Time (2026–2027 School Year) Position Overview Woodstock Elementary School is seeking a high-energy, engaging Paraeducator to provide support in a kindergarten classroom for the 2026–2027 school year. We are looking for a flexible, collaborative team player who enjoys working with young children and helping them develop the skills and confidence needed for success in school. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting early learners as they build independence, develop social-emotional skills, and engage in meaningful learning experiences. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with classroom teachers and school staff in a positive, student-centered environment. Essential Responsibilities
• Support the classroom teacher in implementing instructional activities and daily routines.
• Assist students individually and in small groups with academic, social, and behavioral learning goals.
• Foster student independence and encourage positive problem-solving skills.
• Help create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Support students during classroom transitions, recess, lunch, and other school activities as needed.
• Collaborate effectively with teachers, specialists, and other staff members.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of the role.
Qualifications
• Experience working with young children preferred.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility, patience, and a collaborative mindset.
• Commitment to supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students.
• Ability to meet Vermont Agency of Education paraeducator requirements or willingness to do so.
