About this role
TITLE: Band Extra Assistant Instructor REPORTS TO: Band Director and Principal PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
• Maintains at all times an orderly learning atmosphere and assists the Director in running the band program.
• Assists the Director in reaching yearly goals of the band.
• Instructs individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the area involved.
• Evaluates his or her student's progress, and gives appropriate instruction to meet the needs of the student.
• Assists the Director in organizing a regular program of practice for each student.
• Supervises practices and assigned performances.
• Assumes responsibility for equipment used in the band program with the Director.
• Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
• Develops and maintains appropriate relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Performs related duties and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Band Director, Principal, or Superintendent.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: high school diploma, G.E.D. Certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a G.E.D. as required by Kentucky law
