About this role
Qualifications:
• Previous experience as an instructional assistant in a public school system or experience working with groups of children preferred.
• Basic reading, writing, and computation skills; good written and oral communication skills; basic computer skills preferred.
• Applicants must meet the requirements for a Title I paraprofessional, including:
• Must have a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent and
• Must have met one of the following options:
• Completed two years of study (48 credit hours) at an institution of higher education; or
• Hold an associate's (or higher) degree; or
• Have passed the Parapro Assessment through ETS.
Proof of highly qualified certification must be attached to your application to be considered for this position. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Provide instructional and behavioral support in classrooms as determined by the building administrator and the teacher.
• Assist with emergency procedures and protocol.
• Supervise students in social and developmental activities.
• Provide one-on-one or small group instruction for students as needed.
• Implement lessons or programs as directed.
• Assist with age-appropriate individual and group experiences to support learning in all content areas.
• Support smooth transitions and consistency in routines while meeting varying individual student needs.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, parents, and administration.
• Work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Participate in professional development.
• Complete other duties as assigned through the immediate supervisor.
Pay Rate: Instructional Assistant Grade C2b Salary Scale (credit is based on years of full-time experience in a related position) Assignment: Full time / 10 months / 196 days Start Date: This position is effective with the 2026-2027 school year.
