About this role
REPORTS TO: Building Principal, Athletic Director, Head Cheerleading Sponsor SUPERVISES: 12 students JOB GOAL: To instill character and leadership skills through the use of athletic cheerleading techniques while encouraging sportsmanship and spirit among students, athletes, parents, coaches, staff, and the community at large. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Attend coaches' clinic and rules meetings.
• Attend varsity squad practices during summer (4 times per week x 8 weeks).
• Attend fall and winter practices (one per week).
• Assist in sponsorship of games (10 per season).
• Assist in coaching, supervision and facilitation of cheerleading requirements (both physical and character building).
• Assist in coaching and supervision at practice and at games.
• Work with head sponsor and junior varsity sponsor to ensure optimal use of varsity squad time and development.
• Assist in yearly try-outs and fundraising projects.
DURATION OF POSITION June – March (summer, fall and winter sports season, March try-outs)
