About this role
Reports to: Building Principal General Summary: A Specialized Paraprofessional to Interventionist assists in providing students with reading and time management strategies, while progress monitoring of students. Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:40 to 4:20 p.m. Essential Responsibilities:
• Assists students primarily in grades K through 2 as an early literacy interventionist.
• Collects and assesses data and digital assessments.
• Implements instructional decisions in collaboration with the Interventionist.
• Initiates responsive instructional decisions.
• Collaborates with the Intervention Team.
• Prompt arrival to all scheduled interventions.
• Holds students accountable to high levels of achievement.
• Strong communication strategies in person and through email.
• Openness to receive regular feedback and follow through based on the observation.
• Follow programs and best teaching strategies with fidelity.
• Confidence in problem solving and recognizing when additional support is a necessity.
• Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Maintains confidentiality as defined within the policy and procedure manual.
Qualifications
• Education – High School Diploma (minimum), 48 college credits/Associate's Degree/ability to pass the ParaPro Assessment
• Experience – Evidence of experience working with students
• Preferred:
• Knowledgeable with reading strategies
• Confident to make instructional decisions
