About this role

Qualifications: Required: Meets State of Michigan requirements as a Speech and Language Pathologist Desired:

• Experience providing diagnostic, consultative, and direct speech and language services to students in both individual and small group settings; establishing goals based on assessments, data and student need; and documenting student progress on goals and objectives.

• Experience providing speech and language assessment and diagnostic services and effectively functioning as an evaluation team member.

• Experience and knowledge of language, articulation, development, fluency and voice intervention/remediation strategies.

• Experience and knowledge of speech and language development in special populations, including students with early childhood developmental delays, cognitive impairments, and autism spectrum disorders.

• Ability to function as a speech and language consultant for special and general education teachers regarding the integration of language instruction into the curriculum.

• Familiarity with Michigan Speech-Language Hearing Association and Kent Intermediate School District speech and language guidelines.

• Knowledge of Response to Intervention initiative and strategies.

• Ability to relate positively and work cooperatively with students, school staff, and parents.

• Prefer experience and knowledge with a wide range of school-age students.

• Ability to speak Spanish is preferred.
