Summary: SSW Long Term Sub for the 2026-27 school year. The School Social Worker supports the academic and social-emotional success of students by providing services that strengthen the home-school-community partnership. They assess student needs, provide individual and group services, assist in crisis intervention, and collaborate with staff and families to remove barriers to learning and promote student well-being. Qualifications/Description:
• Master's of Social Work degree with School Social Work certification - Michigan School Social Worker certification.
• Support social-emotional-behavioral needs of all students.
• Proactive approach to behavior and mental health needs & wellbeing.
• Support the implementation of social-emotional learning curriculum.
• Maintain a caseload of students with accurate and timely records and documentation following Michigan special education guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, counselors, and other professionals to coordinate services and support for students.
• Provide direct services to students, including individual and small groups.
• Develop and implement positive behavior support plans (PBSP) and interventions.
• Write, implement and monitor Plans of Care for general education students.
• Bill for mental health services (Medicaid eligible students)
• Participate in threat assessments.
• Contribute as an active member of the child study / student services team, crisis response team, and PBIS School Leadership team in the assigned building.
• Experience supporting programs for students with autism and cognitive impairments is preferred
• Demonstrate the ability to support inclusion for students with disabilities.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and students.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district policies, including confidentiality and mandated reporting laws.
• Ukeru and/or CPI training is preferred.
• Other duties as assigned by the Building Principal and/or Director of Student Services.
