Position Title: Childcare Lead Teacher Status: 12 Month Contract/FULL TIME Department: Little Learners Reports To: Childcare Director FLSA Classification: Exempt Wage Determination: Annual Salary determined by Board of Education Board of Education Approved Date: Qualifications/Education:
• 18+ years of age
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At Least One of the Following is REQUIRED:
• 5 Sessions of 2.5 hours of observation in licensed preschool or center AND 6 months experience in licensed center or preschool or 1 year of practicum
• Child Development Associate Credential (CDA)
• 7-9 semester hours of college credit in early childhood AND 3 months teaching experience in licensed center or preschool or 1 year practicum
Essential Functions:
• Ensure that children are safe and that their everyday needs are met – this may include diapering, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
• Engage in positive interaction with children to build confidence and self-esteem.
• Ensure children are kept active, entertained, and engaged in developmental activities.
• Effectively discipline children who are misbehaving.
• Model and encourage good social skills, e.g. strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
• Monitor and report developmental or safety concerns.

Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:
• Constant bending, twisting, lifting, pushing, and pulling
• Constantly alternating between sitting and standing
• Normally does not lift objects weighing more than 50lbs
Terms of Employment: Classified Personnel position, 12-month contract, 30-hour work week. Does not require a teaching or administrative certificate. Salary to be determined by Board of Education.
