About this role
Qualifications: Qualified candidates will have a valid/registered Professional Educator License with a Principal or General Administrative endorsement, ability and desire to work with junior high aged students, excellent interpersonal skills, knowledge of the school improvement process, a collaborative leadership style, and demonstrated knowledge of athletics (including program oversight, coach support and development, scheduling, safety/compliance, and fostering positive student-athlete development). Salary: $75,000-90,000 based on experience Desired Skills:

School Improvement:
• Serve as a member of various school teams and committees
• Attend Administrator Academy yearly & Professional Development
• Oversee the school handbook committee & activity handbook committee
• Plan and coordinate all scheduled drills
Supervision (Teacher and General):
• Evaluation 50% of Staff
• Schedule all meetings, generate observation data, advise, and instruct staff as necessary.
• Interview teaching/staff candidates as necessary
• Complete and renew ISBE Teacher Evaluation Program as necessary
• Attend and supervise Social and athletic events (dances, games, etc.)
• Attend and assist with Open House and Parent/Teacher Conferences
• Conduct lunch and after school supervision
• Complete residency verification
• Assess building safety equipment
• Active on-site supervision
Discipline:
• Provide appropriate feedback to staff regarding discipline referrals and/or strategies for successfully managing student behavior
• Contact and communicate with parents, guardians, truancy officers, probation officers, and/or police to alert them of discipline issues- and maintain a log of all communications
• Process all referrals via Teacherease Student Management System
• Report suspension report (spreadsheet) monthly to principal and superintendent
• Collaborate with police and administration to respond to issues that may disrupt the learning environment and/or cause safety issues
• Conduct discipline conferences
• Investigate disciplinary issues
• Monitor and enforce a progressive discipline system
• Attend IEP/504 meetings as needed
• Process referrals to alternative education programs, completing necessary forms, recommendations, transcripts
• Meet school expectation in the reduction of serious misconducts
• Meet school expectation for school-wide average attendance
Athletics/Activities:
• Hire and Evaluate Coaches/Sponsors as needed
• Schedule security when needed for Athletic events, dances, and other school activities
• Oversee athletic budget and activity account balances
• As the official representative to the IESA: Monitor, supervise and maintain all athletic/activity responsibilities as they relate to IESA
• Attend Conference Athletic Director Meetings
• Conduct Seasonal MJHS Coaches Meetings
• Create/Arrange Contracts for all Sports
• Create/Arrange Contracts for all Officials
• Oversee student eligibility
• Arrange/monitor athletic team and individual photos
• Monitor and supervise Athletic websites weekly
Other Duties:
