2026-27 Substitute Teacher Papillion La Vista Community Schools Job Summary: The Substitute Teacher is responsible for maintaining a positive, safe, and productive learning environment while ensuring continuity of instruction in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. This individual follows teacher provided lesson plans, delivers instruction aligned with assigned subject areas, and adapts activities as needed to meet the needs of students. The Substitute Teacher demonstrates dependability, establishes collaborative relationships with students, staff, and families. Communicates effectively and professionally with all stakeholders. This position plays an important role in supporting student success by ensuring a seamless educational experience when the regular classroom teacher is unavailable. Qualifications:
• Certification from Nebraska Department of Education (Local Certifications issued by NDE are accepted).
• Previous experience in a classroom setting, or equivalent educational experience, is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with diverse student populations.
• Ability to adapt to different teaching environments and implement lesson plans as directed
• Must be flexible and adaptable to a variety of school environments and teaching needs.
• Ability to manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive and respectful learning environment.
