About this role
PRIMARY PURPOSE / FUNCTION: To help meet the physical and instructional needs of individual students with disabilities inside and outside of the classroom. To assist with the implementation of classroom programs, Individual Education Plans (IEP), including self-help, behavior management, and instruction programs. To work under the general supervision of the principal and the immediate direction of a certified teacher. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: Associate's degree, two years of study at an institution of higher learning, or have met formal academic assessment as required by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) preferred Valid Texas educational aide certificate Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to work with children with disabilities Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Ability to communicate effectively Knowledge of general office equipment Experience: Experience working with children with disabilities preferred
