SUPERVISOR: HEAD COOK/FOOD SERVICE DIRECTOR DEPARTMENT: FOOD SERVICE JOB LOCATION: NORTHWEST PRIMARY SCHOOL KITCHEN JOB OBJECTIVE
• Prepare/serve lunches, run computerized cash register and clean cooking/serving utensils after use
• Assist head cook in putting away deliveries in freezer, cooler and stockroom
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• The cook must have the ability to follow recipes and adjust as needed
• The individual must have the ability to prepare food for serving
• The individual must be able to work with children and adults on a daily basis
• BCI/FBI Background Checks
• Person In Charge Certificate will be required/can complete after employment

• Stoves, Combi ovens, ovens, slicer, dishwashers, and mixers
• Computer
• Copier/Printer

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Observe rules of cleanliness, dress, and grooming
• Perform the duties of cook, server, cashier, dishwasher as assigned by Head Cook
• Check menu of the day. Assemble necessary ingredients and equipment in cooperation with Head Cook
• Assist Head Cook in the preparation and cooking of food, observe procedure followed in large quantity preparation
• Clean and prepare produce, vegetables, fruit, sandwiches, and other food items necessary for the daily breakfast/lunch
• Exercise care and safety in the use of utensils and equipment during preparation (i.e., can openers, knives, grater, mixers, etc.)
• Wash pots and pans, keep work area cleaned as work progresses if time permits
• Lifting requirement of 30# and be able to squat, kneel and bend
• Run computerized cash register, collect money and count money for deposit
• Make out time sheets on computer and help complete other forms
• Daily paperwork
• Check all fixtures, equipment see that each is off or on as required.
• Check to see that all equipment is in good working order and properly stored. Report any malfunctions to Head Cook.
• Must complete 6 hours of continuing education per year
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform other duties as directed
• Attend occasional meetings outside of normal work hours, one being a SNA Chapter 76 meeting
• Comply with all Any Local Board of Education policies and procedures
• Comply with all State and Local regulations
ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS
• Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue
• Occasional interaction among unruly children
• Will work with equipment with hot surfaces, sharp edges, and operated by electricity
