About this role
Primary Purpose
• Maintain custodial equipment in a condition of operating readiness; performing routine repairs and preventive maintenance.
Qualifications Education/Certification
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Texas driver's license and pass MVR driving record check - must meet eligibility
• requirements for CCISD motor vehicle insurance
Special Knowledge/Skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Bilingual - Spanish/English preferred
• Basic knowledge of custodial equipment maintenance
• Ability to analyze problems to reach repair solutions
• Knowledge of basic bench tools and concepts
Experience
• Minimum 2 years equipment repair experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties
• Assume responsibility for the safe and efficient operating condition of custodial and emergency response equipment.
• Perform routine repairs, preventative maintenance, and new installations.
• Document repairs and preventative maintenance utilizing current work order management system.
• Work with Custodial Equipment Repair Technician, Lead and Assistant Lead Custodians, Fixed Assets, and Maintenance Director, in maintaining accurate inventory of site based custodial and emergency response equipment.
• Travel to schools to facilitate repairs, preventative maintenance, and/or train custodial staff in proper operating procedures based on manufacturer's recommendations.
• Work in cooperation with Maintenance Supervisors in maintaining the district's preventive maintenance and energy management programs.
• Participate in district Standard Reunification Protocol as directed by the Incident Commander or designee.
• Demonstrate integrity and ethics.
• Be available for after-hours demands.

Equipment Used
• Including but not limited to vacuum cleaners, buffers, carpet extractors, sweepers, fans, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers.
