About this role
Primary Purpose: To support implementation of district early childhood and early literacy programs and initiatives (Kindergarten through fourth grade). Qualifications Education/Certification: Valid Texas Teaching Certificate Elementary Certificate Master's Degree preferred Special Knowledge/Skills: Working knowledge of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and staff development Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teacher effectiveness Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills Knowledge of Pre-Kindergarten Guidelines and TEKS for K-4 Knowledge of rules and regulations for public school early childhood programs Knowledge of best practices in development in literacy Knowledge of research-based balanced literacy programs Experience: Five years successful elementary classroom teaching experience in literacy required Experience with planning and presenting staff development presentations required Experience in development of literacy curriculum, instruction, and assessment programs required Working Conditions: Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
