About this role

Saint Thomas More Cathedral School, located in Arlington VA, is seeking caring and responsible Extended Day Staff members to supervise and support students in our before- and after-school program. Extended Day Staff create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where students can complete homework, enjoy activities, and build positive relationships outside of the regular school day. This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with children and want to be part of a faith-filled school community. Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise students in grades PreK–8 during before- and after-school care hours

• Engage children in game and activities that promote social and emotional growth

• Provide homework support as needed

• Ensure a safe, nurturing environment and monitor student behavior with patience and care

• Support snack distribution and assist with arrival and dismissal transitions

• Communicate effectively with families, school staff, and administration

• Uphold the mission and values of St. Thomas More Cathedral School

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children preferred

• Reliable, responsible, and flexible

• Ability to supervise students in both structured and unstructured settings

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in education/child development preferred

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Commitment to supporting a Catholic school environment

Schedule & Hours:

• Before School: 6:45 – 7:45 AM

• After School: 3:00 – 6:00 PM

• Flexible scheduling available

Hourly wage: $16.00 - $18.00/hour Benefits for limited part-time employees (less than 20 hours per week): Meaningful work in a nurturing, faith-filled environment, and 403(b) plan.
