Part-time Teacher (Bright Beginnings Child Development Center) Schedule: Monday Wednesday (8:00-1:30) Work year to follow Newberry Adult Education /School District of Newberry County Calendar General Summary Teacher certification is preferred or a bachelor's degree in a related field. Under general supervision, assist students in learning subject matter and/or skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible citizens. Report to the Coordinator. Essential Functions • Cooperates in developing a program of continuous progress consistent with District goals and SC Early learning standards to meet students' needs, interests, and abilities. • Keeps abreast of changes in District policies and students' needs and interests. • Establishes clear and appropriate objectives for all classroom activities and communicates these objectives with students. • Employs instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives. • Analyzes the progress of individual students regularly and seeks appropriate assistance as needed. • Cooperates with other staff members in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods. • Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of students. • Seeks the cooperation and assistance of parents through oral or written communication. • Maintains accurate records as required by the state, or federal law, District policies. • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students. • Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and board policies. • Is punctual and responsible in performing all duties and activities assigned. • Participate in school, and district staff development programs as assigned by the coordinator or adult education director. • Attends staff meetings, serves on staff committee as requested, and accepts a share of responsibility assigned by the coordinator or director. • Always Presents a positive image of Newberry County School District.
