JOB QUALIFICATIONS All candidates who wish to be considered must submit an online application and attach a letter of interest. Temporary Athletic Team Coaches shall demonstrate that they meet the minimum qualifications through one or more of the following:
• Possession of a valid CPR and First Aid certification. Previous high school coaching experience is highly desirable.
• A minimum of two (2) years of lacrosse coaching experience or five (5) years of coaching lacrosse at the high school level or higher. Collegiate or professional playing experience in lacrosse may be considered in lieu of coaching experience.
• Comprehensive, current knowledge of the sport of lacrosse, including rules, strategies, techniques, skill development, conditioning, and player safety.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively teach fundamental and advanced lacrosse skills while fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and positive character development. Candidates must successfully complete an interview that assesses their coaching philosophy, instructional methods, and knowledge of the sport.
• Ability to successfully complete all District-required coaching certifications and training, including, but not limited to, NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Concussion in Sports, Heat Illness Prevention, and any other required District training.
The selected candidate will be required to obtain and maintain the following prior to coaching:
• Valid CPR and First Aid Certification
• NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Certification
• NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certification
• NFHS Concussion in Sports Certification
• NFHS Heat Illness Prevention Certification
• All Perris Union High School District Human Resources onboarding requirements, fingerprint clearance, and required safety training.
