About this role

East Greenwich School Department is seeking applications for an Occupational Therapist to serve the summer 2026 ESY program from 7/7/26-8/6/26 Occupational Therapist provides services to students who are identified with or suspected of having disabilities that interfere with their ability to perform daily life activities or participate in necessary or desired occupations. Responsibilities: 1. Provides thorough assessment instruments pertinent to areas of therapy. 2. Provides and develops specific performance objectives to meet individual needs of students with disabilities, as prescribed by the Evaluation Team, and collaborates with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement therapy by suggesting the student's daily activities; 3. Maintains thorough, ongoing records of referred, screened, and eligible students, as well as individual students receiving therapy or other school-provided occupational services. 4. Serves as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for students with occupational needs, and provides information, support, and consultation to parents and families when appropriate. 5. Maintains and improves professional competence through attendance at professional development events, and by self-generated activities that meet district expectations and the requirements for re-certification; 6. Shares responsibility for accomplishing the goals and priorities of his/her grade/team/department, building and school district, attending all faculty and department meetings as required, and district-wide committees as needed; 7. Performs other duties, as assigned by the School Principal and Director of Special Education and Pupil Services. 8. Attend Team meetings, write goals/objectives, and progress monitoring with each report card cycle.

Must have Department of Health OT cert. Qualifications: 1. Initial certification by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy; 2. Master's Degree, from an accredited college or university, in a related field; 3. Two years of experience as an Occupational Therapist, preferably in a school system or other pediatric practice setting. 4. Commitment to remain current in content knowledge and therapy strategies; 5. Demonstrated experience with students in a diverse, multi-cultural environment

Requirements
