Position Title: Child Nutrition Compliance & Contract Administrator

Department: Business Services/Finance

Reports To: Director of Business Position Summary The Child Nutrition Compliance & Contract Administrator serves as the district's representative for oversight of the contracted food service management company. This position ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, After School Snack Program, Summer Feeding Programs, and other Child Nutrition Programs. The position monitors contractor performance, maintains required documentation, coordinates state reviews and audits, and protects the district's financial and regulatory interests. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Contract Oversight

• Serve as the district liaison with the contracted food service management company.

• Monitor compliance with all provisions of the food service management contract.

• Review contractor invoices for accuracy and contract compliance.

• Monitor key performance indicators including participation, meal quality, customer service, and financial performance.

• Participate in contract renewals, amendments, and procurement activities as needed.

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with USDA, Arkansas Department of Education, and district policies.

• Maintain required program records and documentation.

• Review production records, menus, meal counts, and claiming documentation.

• Monitor compliance with meal pattern requirements and nutrition standards.

• Coordinate responses to corrective action plans.

Program Administration

• Coordinate annual applications, agreements, and required reports.

• Assist with free and reduced-price meal eligibility oversight.

• Ensure required public notifications and civil rights requirements are met.

• Monitor food safety and sanitation compliance.

• Verify required staff training is completed.

Financial Oversight

• Monitor the financial performance of the Child Nutrition Program.

• Review reimbursement claims and supporting documentation.

• Assist in budget development and financial reporting.

• Monitor federal and state reimbursements.

Audit and Review Coordination

• Serve as district coordinator during Administrative Reviews and audits.

• Prepare documentation for state and federal monitoring.

• Implement and monitor corrective actions when necessary.

Communication

• Serve as the primary district contact regarding Child Nutrition compliance.

• Work collaboratively with district administrators, principals, and the contractor.

• Prepare reports for the Superintendent and School Board as requested.

Qualifications Education

• Minimum of high school diploma or GED with an accredited educational institution. Other requirements per job description.

Experience

• Experience with federal Child Nutrition Programs preferred.

• Experience in contract administration, compliance, auditing, or school finance preferred.

• Knowledge of Arkansas public school operations is desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of USDA Child Nutrition regulations.

• Knowledge of Arkansas Department of Education Child Nutrition requirements.

• Strong analytical and organizational skills.

• Ability to interpret federal and state regulations.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to maintain confidential information.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial reporting systems.

Physical Requirements

• Occasional travel between district facilities.

• Ability to inspect kitchen facilities and records.

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Performance Responsibilities The employee will:

• Protect the district's compliance with all Child Nutrition regulations.

• Ensure contractor accountability under the Food Service Management contract.

• Support successful state and federal reviews.

• Promote fiscal responsibility and program integrity.

• Provide leadership in maintaining a high-quality nutrition program for students.
