About this role
1.0 Math Teacher - Senior High School We are seeking an experienced math teacher with proven expertise in meeting the needs of diverse learners. The district is supporting teachers in exploring new instructional practices that develop deep understanding of mathematical concepts in a "thinking" classroom. The candidate must commit to facilitating meaningful collaboration among students, exploring mathematical concepts through the analysis of real-world applications/tasks, and supporting student mastery of rigorous content standards. The use of ongoing data to identify student needs and monitor growth/progress is an expectation.
Must be certified as a math teacher in RI covering the grade levels specified above. Experience/training in the Building Thinking Classroom (BTC) instructional methodology preferred, but not required. Commitment to the BTC approach and openness to ongoing training and support in this area is a requirement.
