REGIONAL SCHOOL UNIT #4 LITCHFIELD – SABATTUS - WALES JOIN OUR TEAM! Bus Driver Position JOB DESCRIPTION BUS DRIVER QUALIFICATIONS:
• Valid school bus license with appropriate endorsements
• Must have on-going First-aid CPR training
• Ability to make sound judgments
• Must pass yearly DOT physical examination
• Must pass alcohol and drug tests
• Adequate body strength and full range of arms and legs to operate all mechanical equipment
REPORTS TO: Director of Transportation JOB GOAL: To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantages from the district's curriculum and extracurricular program. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Obeys all traffic laws.
• Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
• Adheres to all state laws and School Board policies governing the operation of school buses.
• Does pre-trip inspections each day.
• Enforces all school bus rules and regulations.
• Transports only authorized students.
• Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.
• Reports discipline problems to the school office and fills out appropriate incident reports.
• Adheres to assigned schedule and route.
• Discharges students only at appropriate authorized stops.
• Transports students to and from extracurricular activities.
• Exercises responsible leadership when on school trips.
• Maintains a clean bus inside and outside.
• Reports all accidents and completes required reports.
• Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness
• Attends workshops and training pertaining to transportation.
• Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Transportati
