About this role
Under the direction of the School Nurse, provide health services, nursing treatments, health education, evaluation, health screening services, medication administration, and the maintenance of health records within the building of assignment and in accordance with district policies and procedures determined by the School Nurse.
• Provide evaluation of student health care needs.
• Complete documentation and maintenance of health medical records to assure compliance with state and local mandates including immunizations, incident reports, physical exams, screenings, and medical conditions.
• Provide communication to staff, parents and students regarding health information as directed by the school nurse.
• Prepare materials and arrange screening schedule for students annually.
• General administrative/clerical support
Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma and/or equivalent; and/or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the above described duties.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a similar or like position.
• First Aid and CPR Certification and/or the ability to obtain
Preferred Qualifications:
• Graduate of an associate's degree or higher in a health related field such as Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Prior experience working with children and/or health care setting.
