Special Education Director/Preschool Director/504 Coordinator Job Goal: To coordinate the special education administrative and instructional program with grades PreK through Grade 14 by working with principals, guidance counselors, teachers, and aides in the organization and promotion of a personalized education program for students and staff. Job Responsibilities
• All reports for the Kentucky Department of Education/GRREC
• Maintaining Budgets and spending for Special education and Preschool
• Monitor special education enrollment
• Monitor compliance with state and federal regulations for IDEA and preschool
• Oversee Medicaid and the mandatory Random Moment Time Sampling for the district
• Assign and maintain paperwork on surrogate parents to act on behalf of students as needed
• WHAS grants annually
• Respond to all concerns of special education staff, regular education staff, administrators, and
parents/students.
• Work with the transportation department to coordinate special needs student transportation.
• Oversee GAP component of the Comprehensive District Improvement Plan
11. Chair ARCs as needed in the district at schools, all ARCs at private schools, and Head Start.
• Serve on local county FAIR Team for students involved with the Court Designated Worker
• Coordinate and collaborate with instructional supervisors, principals, and other administrators.
• Assist with Risk Assessments
• Supervise summer programs for special education, RTI, and other struggling elementary students.
• Provide and schedule trainings for administrators and staff in the district
• Participate in professional learning to stay abreast of current practice and programs
• Oversee the districtwide preschool programming
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Superintendent and the Board of Education.
