About this role
BASIC FUNCTION: Serve as the custodian of any evidence or found property seized by McCracken County County School Police Officers (SROs). REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
• Collection and Preservation of Evidence
• Release of Property and Evidence
• Ability to train others in the collection, proper submission, and retention of evidence.
• Comply with all court requests
• Log and store evidence and found property in a safe, legal fashion.
• Follow all KRS, KAR, and case laws that apply to evidence and found property.
• Recommend the purchase of equipment and supplies as necessary.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Adhere to the Professional Code of Ethics
• Follow all Policies and Procedures.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: KNOWLEDGE OF:
• State and Federal law.
• Evidence storage and preservation.
ABILITY TO:
• Understand and follow oral and written directions.
• Read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Currently employed as a McCracken County Schools Police Department Officer (SRO) with more than 1yr. of service.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• No disciplinary actions within the last 12 Months.
