Position Description
POSITION TITLE: High School Receptionist FLSA: Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Principal TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 229 days with benefits as specified in the Classified Agreement. QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma.
• Good grammar & English speaking skills.
• Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to lift 30 lbs. to shoulder height occasionally.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Answer telephone system and intercom phone.
• Place calls in voice mail & locate staff as appropriate.
• Assist parents, students or any other visitors who come to the front office.
• Communication center for any major emergencies or disasters.
• Communicating messages to security and custodial staff via radio.
• Make announcements on intercom as necessary.
• Daily recording of all activities.
• Manually operate the bells on days when the regular bell schedule is not being followed.
• Monitor the alarm system panel for emergencies and follow various procedures to contact the proper administrators.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Work with the phone service system on any repairs or problems with the phones.
• Record all greetings & instructions for phone system and set up voice mail for all new faculty & staff.
• Train all faculty & staff on use of the phone & intercom system.
• Adhere to protecting confidential information.
• Assist with all office mailings.
• Assist with new student data entry as requested.
• Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills.
• Adheres to good safety practices.
• Adheres to all district rules, regulations and policies.
• Attend meetings and work overtime as required.
• All other duties assigned.
