Union County Public Schools has an opening beginning with the 2026-2027 school year and seeks a highly effective, qualified, & proven leader to serve as Director of Personnel. The applicant should have an active administrative certification for principal and/or superintendent issued by the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB). In addition, the applicant will have successful, progressive, and innovative administrative experience. The preferred applicant will also demonstrate the ability to proactively recruit, retain, support, empower, and lead all staff while building district leadership capacity. The candidate will strive to inspire each employee & student in the district while promoting district initiatives in the community. This position is 235 days/year. KNOWLEDGE OF: * District personnel policies and procedures. * Practices and procedures related to certified and classified employment. * Kentucky teacher credential requirements. * Principles and techniques of recruitment and selection of personnel. * Duties performed in various occupational fields. * Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy. * Effective instructional practices to enhance delivery of instruction/student engagement. ABILITY TO: * Interpret, apply, and explain District policies, procedures, rules and regulations regarding classified and certified personnel. *Perform complex assignments independently. * Perform a variety of specialized and technical duties concerning the employment of classified and certified personnel. * Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. * Plan and organize work. * Meet schedules and timelines. * Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action. * Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
