About this role

Job Title: Facility Maintenance Technician Reports to: Campus Principal Location: In-Person, Coral Academy of Science , Eastgate campus, Henderson Nevada Position Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Position Summary The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, cleanliness, and appearance of school facilities and grounds. This position performs a variety of preventive maintenance, repair, and general maintenance tasks to ensure school buildings, equipment, and outdoor areas remain safe, operational, and conducive to student learning. The Facility Maintenance Technician works collaboratively with school administrators and staff to provide timely and efficient maintenance services across the campus. Key Responsibilities Facility Maintenance

• Perform routine inspections of school buildings, classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas to identify maintenance needs.

• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on building systems, equipment, furniture, and fixtures.

• Repair or replace doors, locks, windows, flooring, ceiling tiles, lighting fixtures, and other building components.

• Assemble, install, and move furniture, equipment, and classroom materials as needed.

• Perform basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and drywall repairs within the scope of the position.

• Report major repairs requiring specialized contractors to the Director of Facilities and Operations.

Grounds Maintenance

• Maintain school grounds, sidewalks, parking lots, and outdoor facilities to ensure a safe and attractive environment.

• Remove debris, clean outdoor areas, and assist with seasonal grounds maintenance.

• Inspect playground equipment and outdoor facilities for safety concerns and report deficiencies.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure facilities comply with applicable health, safety, fire, and building regulations.

• Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies and safety hazards.

• Assist with emergency preparedness activities and campus safety inspections.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete assigned work orders in a timely manner.

• Follow OSHA regulations and all district safety procedures.

Event & Operational Support

• Assist with setup and breakdown of classrooms, meetings, school events, and special activities.

• Support campus relocations, classroom moves, and furniture installations.

• Coordinate with school administrators to minimize disruptions during maintenance activities.

• Assist vendors and contractors performing work on campus as directed.

Equipment & Inventory

• Operate and maintain maintenance equipment, tools, and vehicles safely and efficiently.

• Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed.

• Maintain maintenance shop organization and cleanliness.

Other Duties

• Maintain confidentiality regarding school operations and personnel.

• Promote a safe, clean, and professional learning environment.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum of two (2) years of facility maintenance, building maintenance, construction, or related experience.

• Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and general building maintenance.

• Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment.

• Valid Nevada driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

• Ability to read and follow maintenance manuals, safety procedures, and work orders.

Preferred

• Trade certification in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or a related field.

• Experience maintaining educational, commercial, or public facilities.

• OSHA safety training or certification.

• Forklift or lift equipment certification.

• Bilingual or multilingual abilities.

Work Environment The Facility Maintenance Technician works both indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. The position requires frequent standing, walking, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting materials and equipment up to 75 pounds. The role requires the safe operation of hand and power tools, exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, noise, and varying temperatures, and may occasionally require work outside of normal business hours to respond to emergencies or support school events.
