DEPARTMENT: Safety and Operations
WORK DAYS: 195 to 220 Days
REPORTS TO: Principal
JOB SUMMARY: The School Administration Manager (SAM) will assist with school safety, operations, behavior, attendance, grades, social-emotional learning, and student code of conduct. The School Administration Manager will be responsible for conducting multiple tasks to assist the school Principal in increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of the school. The School Administration Manager will also assist in ensuring the needs of the staff and students are met positively to help the school meet its achieved goals. The School Administration Manager will serve as a Registered Behavioral Technician. If a 220-day employee, the School Administration Manager will assist with all summer operations.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supports the administration in managing day-to-day school operations and safety, student supervision, on and off-campus school activities, student discipline, building maintenance, and classified staff supervision.
• Assists and supports the teaching staff as directed by the principal.
• Assists the principal in maintaining a safe and orderly learning environment, attending to emergencies per district, state, and school guidelines, and enforcing school and district rules and regulations.
• Maintains high visibility for the purpose of maintaining an orderly environment and building positive relations with students and staff.
• Assists the Principal in responding to parent, teacher, student, and/or stakeholder concerns and complaints.
• Participates in meetings and training required to perform the functions of the position.
• Composes and presents a wide variety of materials, including oral/written reports for the purpose of maintaining documentation of activities.
• Oversees school crisis management plan and monitors implementation.
• Serves as a Registered Behavioral Technician
• Serves as a Truancy Officer (Member of the Truancy Treatment Team)
• Serves as a Check and Connect point person
• Assistant with all summer operations including summer school, building maintenance, and safety inspection
• Performs other tasks as assigned by the Principal.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education:
• Georgia PSC Certification and Bachelor's degree is preferred
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate.
Experience:
• Preferred experience working in a high-needs school setting with supervisory experience.
• Preferred leadership experience and skills in dealing with students
• Knowledge of state and federal education laws.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
• Ability to effectively lead, organize, and direct the work of others.
• Strong background in safety and operations.
• Strong decision-making ability, proven performance, and resource management skills.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.
