POSITION: Transportation Data Clerk DEPARTMENT: Transportation Department REPORTS TO: Director of Transportation EMPLOYMENT TERM: 195 Days / Full-Time (7.5 hours per day) SALARY RANGE: Position is on Grade 14 of the Classified Salary Scale (based on education and experience) Job Goal To ensure the highly accurate, efficient management of student transportation data within state databases and district software (including PowerSchool and routing systems), while providing exceptional front-office clerical support and communication services for the Transportation Department. Performance Responsibilities & Essential Duties

• Data Management & Integration: Input, update, and maintain student transportation records, bus routes, and address data in the state PowerSchool system and district-approved routing software. • Clerical & Front Office Support: Serve as a key point of contact for the Transportation Department by answering telephones, taking messages, and greeting visitors. • Dispatch & Operational Support: Assist in monitoring radio communications, relaying critical routing updates to drivers, and troubleshooting immediate transportation inquiries from schools and parents. • Records Maintenance: Organize and file departmental paperwork, mileage logs, student conduct reports, and state-required transportation audits. • Communication Liaison: Act as a helpful and professional bridge between parents, school administrators, and bus drivers to resolve scheduling, routing, or student placement questions. • General Administrative Duties: Perform other clerical duties, data entry tasks, and special projects as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications

• Education & Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience working with PowerSchool Systems or database management is highly preferred. • Technical Skills: Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, rapid/accurate data entry, and the ability to learn specialized transportation routing software. • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, customer service, and human relation skills. Ability to remain calm, helpful, and professional in a fast-paced environment. • Problem-Solving: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
