Point of Sale Lunch Clerk BASIC FUNCTION: To Assist the Building Head Cook with the financial part of meal service. QUALIFICATIONS: MANDATORY:
• High School diploma
• Ability to work with people
• Genuine interest in students
• Some lifting required
DESIRABLE:
• Computer experience
EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION:
• Employed by the Board of Education upon recommendation of the Superintendent.
• Reports to the Building Head Cook, Food Service Director.
• Salary is set by the Superintendent and approved by the Board of Education.
TECHNICAL:
• Enter student's lunch charges accurately.
• Handle cash, credit & debit transactions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and dining space.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
• Demonstrate organization and professionalism in the fulfillment of responsibilities of the job.
• Dress appropriately for the position and work required.
• Adhere to applicable state and federal laws, rules and regulations, board policies and administrative rules.
• Must be willing to communicate and the Food Service Director/Head Cook in a professional and respectful manner.
HUMAN:
• Works closely with kitchen to continually improve the food service program.
• Greet all students, faculty, staff and visitors courteously.
• Cooperate with and work in a courteous manner with co-workers and other personnel.
• Be willing to help where needed.
• Demonstrate and maintain a positive attitude toward school, faculty, students and job. Community the same to the community.
• Accept constructive criticism and suggestions. Seek to improve each job responsibility.
• Maintain confidentiality in the school operation.
EDUCATIONAL:
• Willing to complete 8 educational hours yearly during time of employment

• Model appropriate work habits for other food service employees.
• Share ideas and suggestions with supervisor.
• Maintain positive attitude in all work situations.
• Maintain high standards for all aspects of the food service program.
• Provide constructive criticism when concerns arise about issues in the kitchen.
• Attend food service training programs whenever possible.
SYMBOLIC
• Communicate with students, parents and staff members about food service program.
• Attends school functions when appropriate.
• Promote food service program through the school and community.
