High School Special Educator (Dual Certified in Math) Stoneham High School 2026–2027 School Year Stoneham High School is seeking a highly qualified and collaborative Special Education Teacher who is dual certified in Special Education and Math to join our Special Education Department for the 2026–2027 school year. The successful candidate will have experience providing specialized instruction and support to secondary students with disabilities within inclusive and substantially separate settings. This position requires strong collaboration skills, knowledge of special education law and practices, and the ability to support students in accessing rigorous grade-level curriculum. Qualifications Required
• Massachusetts licensure in Moderate Disabilities (Grades 5–12)
• Massachusetts licensure in Math (Grades 5–12 or 8–12)
• Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement
Preferred
• Experience teaching in a secondary school setting
• Knowledge of and experience administering, scoring, and interpreting academic assessments (e.g., WIAT-4, GORT-5)
• Strong understanding of special education regulations, procedures, and compliance requirements
• Demonstrated organizational, communication, and time-management skills
• Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities Instruction and Student Support
• Create inclusive, student-centered learning environments aligned with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles.
• Provide specially designed instruction and differentiated, evidence-based interventions to meet the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities.
• Co-teach Math and other core academic courses in partnership with general education teachers.
• Provide accommodations and modifications to support student access to grade-level curriculum.
• Facilitate Learning Strategies and other special education support classes focused on skill development, executive functioning, and academic achievement.
• Monitor student performance and adjust instructional practices based on data and student needs.
Assessment and Data Analysis
• Conduct and analyze academic evaluations and assessments.
• Collect, monitor, and analyze student performance data to inform instruction and intervention planning.
• Prepare and complete progress reports that accurately reflect student growth toward IEP goals and objectives.
IEP Development and Compliance
• Serve as Team Chair for annual review meetings and other IEP meetings for students on assigned caseloads.
• Develop, write, and revise high-quality Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that are compliant, student-centered, and measurable.
• Collaborate with the Special Education Coordinator to ensure services are implemented according to each student's service delivery grid.
• Maintain accurate and timely special education documentation and records.
Collaboration and Consultation
• Collaborate with special educators, general educators, related service providers, families, and administrators to support student success.
• Consult with general education teachers regarding accommodations, instructional modifications, and effective strategies for supporting students with disabilities.
• Maintain ongoing communication with families regarding student progress and educational programming.
• Participate actively in school-based teams, professional development, and department initiatives.
