About this role
The TLC Program is an inclusive program that provides specialized educational and behavioral support for students with significant social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Staff assigned to the program are expected to demonstrate strong collaboration, flexibility, sound professional judgment, and the ability to implement evidence-based behavioral and de-escalation strategies while fostering a safe, structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. Position Responsibilities:
• Teach students specific skills and strategies to help them access curriculum
• Conduct IEP meetings and complete all related paperwork in a timely fashion
• Monitor student progress; revise IEP according to progress
• Co-teach in regular education content area, or teach substantially separate subject
• Prepare students for transition to post-high school life
• Communicate with school personnel outside of the department
• Communicate effectively with parents and other stakeholders
Job Qualifications:
• Attendance at departmental and school-wide meetings
• Requisite licensure as defined by the DESE and SEI Endorsement
• Experience implementing all parts of the IEP process
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• A strong commitment to helping a wide variety of culturally diverse students achieve their full potential
• Ability to support the development of culturally responsive programs and activities that promote student engagement, family engagement, community involvement and a positive school climate
